Problem: Organizing social gatherings among multiple friends can be very difficult in a fast paced environment, especially when trying to accommodate everyone's schedules, location and venue preference. We often rely on the event organizer to take the reigns and decide for everyone, or fall victim to indecision and the perils of groupthink.
Solution! HuddleBear provides a democratic approach to event organization by allowing attendees to vote on a location, identify an event time that accommodates all schedules, and stay in close communication through push notifications and in app chat functionality.
Powered by Foursquare, HuddleBear allows users to see what venues their friends prefer, which locations are most convenient for all participants, and notifies HuddleBear users when guests arrive on location.

We would first like to thank Foursquare for their hospitality, food, shelter, API, entertainment, and hard work organizing the 2013 Foursquare Hackathon in New York.
A very special thank you to Akshay Patil and his team for spending countless weekend hours cramped up with us. Because of your hard work and dedication to the Hackathon community, dozens of incredible tools are now available to the public!
Thank you to the panelists for your time and feedback, and to the many other contributing companies that we hope to integrate with in the future, to name a few: Twilio, SendGrid, Venmo and Mashery.
